Two fighter pilots from the United Arab Emirates were killed when their Mirage jet crashed in Yemen “as a result of a technical malfunction,” according to a statement by the Saudi-led coalition posted by the state-run SPA news agency.
The jet fighter was reported missing in Yemen on Monday, according to the agency.
The UAE is part of a Saudi-led coalition carrying out military strikes in Yemen against Shiite Houthi rebels, in an effort to restore the government of Yemeni President Abd Rabu Mansour Hadi.
