Youth Acting Classes
Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre
Youth Acting Classes will take place Saturday mornings at CAST in January and February, beginning Jan. 9 under the instruction of Gayle Gearhart, CAST artistic director.
Grades 1-3 will meet 9 a.m. – 10 a.m., grades 4-7 will meet 10 a.m. – 11 a.m., and grades 8-12 will meet 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Registration can be done online or on Jan. 9 when arriving for classes. Registration is $35 per child, or $30 per child for families with more than one participant.
Learn to Cross-country Ski, Parker Dam

Program Fee: $3, All Participants
Learn how to enjoy this winter sport with the whole family. Learn why the cross-country skis work the way they do, how to get strapped onto the proper-sized equipment, and then go outside to practice turns, falling down, getting back up, and various techniques to get you started. Equipment available for both adults and kids (limited number and sizes). Dress appropriately for being active outdoors.

Early refrigeration relied not on electricity, but ice. Millions of tons of ice were cut from ponds and stored or shipped for use around the world. Come learn about the tools and methods of the ice trade from its beginning until its end in the early 20th century.

Women’s Personal Protection/Firearm Safety Class
Belding & Mull, Philipsburg
Belding & Mull of Philipsburg will host a personal protection and firearm safety class for women from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Sunday. The cost is $65 and includes a light lunch and $5 Belding Bucks. Participants will learn personal protection for in their home, on the street and in a vehicle; how to choose the right handgun; how to properly handle a handgun; basic handgun safety; and how to safely secure/store a handgun and ammunition. The class will also have a laser training simulator and shoot/no shoot scenarios. Class size is limited, and participants will need a handgun for classroom training (please make sure it is unloaded before you enter the store).
