Hotel shooting in Dublin, Ireland, kills one

One person has been killed and two injured in a shooting at the Regency Hotel in Dublin, a police representative has told CNN.

In a statement Friday, police said authorities were investigating a shooting that occurred about 2:30 p.m. “at the Regency Hotel, Swords Road, Dublin 9.” When emergency workers arrived, they found three injured men who were “all in their 20s or 30s,” the statement read.

One of the men died, the statement said. The other two were taken to hospitals with possible gunshot wounds, police said.

The scene has been sealed off, and a technical examination of the area is expected to take place.

The shooting was not terrorism, a police representative told CNN.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area of the Regency Hotel or may have information to contact them.
