Cologne attacks: Pakistani, Syrian men assaulted in wake of New Year’s sex attacks

At least six Pakistani nationals were attacked by a group of 20 men in the German city of Cologne on Sunday, with two taken to hospital for their injuries, police said.

A man of Syrian descent was later attacked and injured by five men.

Two men have been detained following the attacks, Cologne police said.

Germany is reeling from a wave of sexual attacks and robberies of women on New Year’s Eve, which victims said were predominantly carried out by men of North African or Arab origin.
