State Police Investigate Hit-and-run in Morris Twp.

MORRIS TOWNSHIP – State police investigated a hit-and-run crash involving personal property that occurred Saturday on the Morrisdale-Allport Highway in Morris Township.

According to state police at Clearfield, a Honda sports utility vehicle was traveling north when it crossed over the centerline and exited the left side of the roadway. It impacted a wheelbarrow, garbage cans, an embankment, and utility pole.

Afterward its operator failed to remain at the scene as required by law. Impact with the utility pole, state police said, reportedly caused a major oil leak, and the oil path extended from the crash scene to the driveway of the operator.

State police noted that the vehicle’s hazard lights were on, which also made it easy to locate. State police have filed numerous traffic citations against the operator through the district court.
