State police at Clearfield
- State police responded to an alleged domestic simple assault/terroristic threats incident Wednesday at Kwik Fill in Cooper Township. During the incident, a Gilford, Conn., man allegedly assaulted the victim multiple times in several areas. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
State police at DuBois
- A DuBois teen was flown to the Altoona Hospital with major injuries after an accident Dec. 24 on Route 219 in Bloom Township. She was traveling north when, for unknown reasons, her vehicle’s brakes locked up and it started to slide. Her vehicle started to spin in a clockwise direction and exited the roadway to the east; there, it impacted with a ditch with both wheels on the driver’s side. Her vehicle started to overturn, continued north and impacted a tree with its hood, which caused major damage to its hood and roof. The teen’s vehicle came to a final rest in the ditch on its wheels, and she was entrapped inside of it. She was freed by mechanical means by the Brady Township Fire Department. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.
- State police responded to an accident Wednesday on Richardsville Road in Warsaw Township. Further, Donna Bauer of Brockway was traveling north in the right-hand lane. Upon cresting the hill, she observed a deer in her lane, and swerved to the left in an attempt to avoid it. However, her passenger’s side struck the deer; her vehicle then struck an embankment adjacent to the east berm. Bauer was wearing her seatbelt; she wasn’t injured in the accident.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police have a black Nokia cell phone that was located Wednesday on the railroad tracks behind North Front Street in Rush Township. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police investigated an alleged DUI/Act 64 violation Wednesday on Route 28 in Clover Township. Further, a Ridgway woman was stopped for a traffic violation and allegedly determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance. She was allegedly found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana. She was also allegedly found to be in possession of several pills not prescribed to her. Charges are currently pending against the woman, state police said.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about an ongoing traffic problem in the Hyde area along Washington Avenue. It will be addressed with patrols.
- Police were contacted by Philadelphia police regarding a recovered stolen handgun.
- Police received a report about a traffic hazard on the roadway at the intersection of Flegal Road and Rockton Mountain Highway.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment by communications that occurred on Facebook.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of an individual on Mount Joy Road.
Decatur Township
- Morris-Cooper Regional police were assisted with a possible burglary on Deer Creek Road.
- Police responded to an alleged burglary at a local camp on Coal Run Road. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
- Lawrence Township police were assisted with a pursuit of a wanted male. The male was later apprehended, police said.
- Police responded to a minor, two-vehicle accident along North Front Street in Philipsburg.
- Police responded to a vehicle accident in Houtzdale. No injuries were reported as a result, and a vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
- Police received a report about a couple arguing inside a pick-up truck that was traveling on the Drane Highway near Rebel Lane. However, the truck was gone upon police arrival in the area.
- Police received a report from a resident who was allegedly having a suspicious vehicle come up to her house and then leave. Its occupant also allegedly took pictures of her house. State police at Lamar assisted with making contact with those involved in the incident.
- Police received a report about the alleged theft of equipment from a local business. It remains under investigation at this time, police said.
