Police: Palestinian stabs 2 security guards in West Bank settlement

A Palestinian man stabbed two security guards near the entrance of an industrial park in the West Bank settlement of Ariel, police said.

The attacker was killed, said Israeli police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld on Thursday.

The two victims are in critical and moderate condition, according to Rosenfeld.

The attack comes a day after two people were killed in a stabbing at the Jaffa Gate of the Old City of Jerusalem.

One of the victims died of stab wounds sustained during the attack, according to Israeli police. The second victim was shot by accident by Israeli security forces aiming at the attackers.

Rosenfeld said there were two attackers, one who was fatally shot at the scene and one who died at a hospital. Both attackers were armed with knives, police said.
