CURWENSVILLE – Playing inspired, the Curwensville girls basketball team trailed visiting Ridgway after three quarters just 34-26 on Monday night on the home floor of the Lady Tide.
It was the fourth quarter that was unkind to the Tide as the Lady Elkers held their hosts to just two points while they scored 13 to secure the victory.
Curwensville trailed 11-6 after the first eight minutes and only 19-13 at the break.
Freshman Madison Weber paced the Lady Tide in scoring with a career high of 11 points.
The Lady Elkers had two players in double figures, as Emily Fullem led all scorers with 19 while teammate Jessica Kifer canned 13.
Curwensville had a good night at the free throw line, hitting on 11 of 17.
Ridgway had no problem winning the opening game of the night, beating the Lady Tide junior varsity team 48-7.
The Lady Tide, now 0-5, play again at home on Tuesday December 29 against rival Clearfield. Junior varsity will tip-off at 6 pm with the varsity game to immediately follow.
