State police at Clearfield
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of theft by unlawful taking that occurred Thursday on Bailey Road in Pike Township. During the incident, someone allegedly took money that was enclosed in an envelope in the victim’s mailbox. Upon investigation state police allegedly found that the suspect was a male with dark hair, and he was driving a silver-colored Ford Explorer. - State police received a report about an accident that occurred Thursday on the Old Erie Pike in Boggs Township. Lindsey D. Albright of Munson was traveling westbound and negotiating a right-hand curve. Her vehicle hit a patch of black ice, while she was attempting to negotiate the curve. She subsequently lost control of her vehicle, which began sliding sideways and exited the roadway. Her vehicle impacted with a utility pole on the southern side of the roadway; it continued sliding until impacting a street sign. Albright’s vehicle continued sliding and came to a final rest off of the southern side of the roadway. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident, and Albright was wearing her seatbelt, state police said. Her vehicle was towed from the scene.
- State police received a report about a hit-and-run accident that occurred Friday or Saturday along Henry’s Road in Jordan Township. A vehicle was traveling westbound when its operator lost control for unknown reasons. It traveled off the north shoulder for approximately 48 feet and impacted a utility pole with its right, passenger’s side door area. Upon impact the operator fled the scene in an unknown direction. - State police received a report about an alleged incident of criminal mischief that occurred sometime between Friday and Sunday on Hale Street in Osceola Mills Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly used a blunt object to break the rear window of a 2001 silver Chevrolet Impala. - State police received a report about a single-vehicle accident that occurred Sunday on Route 153 in Boggs Township. Erika L. Brooks of Osceola Mills was traveling south when she lost control of her vehicle while negotiating a left-hand curve. As a result, her vehicle traveled off the west shoulder for approximately 21 feet and impacted a dirt embankment. Upon impact her vehicle continued to travel south in a clockwise direction and overturned onto its driver’s side, coming to a rest on the west shoulder of SR 153. Brooks was cited for the accident through the district court. State police were assisted at the scene by the Bigler-Jackson-Woodland Fire Company, fire police, Clearfield Emergency Medical Services and towing services.
- State police received a report about an alleged burglary that occurred sometime between Nov. 29 and Sunday on Grange Avenue in Woodward Township. During the incident, someone allegedly forced entry into the basement of the victim’s residence. Once inside they allegedly cut and removed copper piping and wiring, which caused extensive damage to the residence. - State police received a report about an accident Sunday on State Park Road in Pine Township. Dennis S. Fenton of Clearfield was traveling north when he lost control of his vehicle, which exited the roadway via the east berm and impacted an embankment. His vehicle then overturned and came to a final rest on its driver’s side. Both Fenton and his passenger were entrapped in the vehicle. Fenton was not injured and his passenger sustained minor injuries. State police were assisted by the Lawrence Township Fire Department, Clearfield EMS and towing services. Fenton was cited for the accident through the district court.
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of criminal mischief that occurred Saturday on Second Avenue in Osceola Mills Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly used a sharp metal object and slashed two tires on the victim’s Mitsubishi Outland while it was parked. Damage is estimated at $400, state police said. State police are continuing their investigation at this time.
State police at Philipsburg
- State police received a report about an alleged burglary that occurred sometime between March 23 and Dec. 7 on North 10th Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly entered the victim’s residence through a window. Once inside they allegedly removed several tools and related items. - State police received a report about an alleged incident of theft by unlawful taking that occurred Dec. 8 at Uni-Mart in Rush Township. During the incident, an African-American male removed the victim’s wallet after it was left on the counter. It contained several hundred dollars. - On Dec. 8 a wallet was found on the Port Matilda Highway in Rush Township. The owner, a Grassflat man, may contact state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370 to claim the wallet with proof of ownership.
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of criminal mischief that occurred Friday on North Second Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, an Osceola Mills woman allegedly kicked the victim’s apartment door and caused damage. Damage is estimated at $100, state police said. The woman was cited for the incident through the district court.
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment that occurred Friday at the Philipsburg-Osceola High School. During the incident, a juvenile student allegedly punched another juvenile student in the ribs.
- State police received a report about an alleged incident of theft that occurred sometime Thursday or Friday on Buttonwood Street in Union Township. - State police received a report about an accident that occurred Thursday on the Port Matilda Highway in Rush Township. A vehicle operated by a Clearfield teen was traveling east and negotiating a left-hand curve. For unknown reasons, his vehicle exited the roadway and impacted a tree with its 1 o’clock position. His vehicle continued to travel another approximately 120 feet and rotating clockwise 90 degrees before coming to a final rest. The teen’s vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene; he was wearing his seatbelt and sustained minor injuries, state police said. State police believe illegal drug use is a factor in the accident, which remains under an active investigation.
State police at DuBois
- State police received a report about an accident that occurred Friday on Interstate 80 westbound in Sandy Township. Lisa A. Cruz of Brockway was negotiating a left-hand curve just after passing another vehicle. Her vehicle crossed back into the right lane and made contact with the rumble strip. She became startled and overcompensated in an attempt to get back into her lane of travel. The rear of her vehicle began to swerve erratically, and her vehicle traveled off of the north side of I-80. The Cruz vehicle then impacted the embankment and overturned several times before coming to a rest on the northern shoulder. Cruz sustained moderate injuries and was transported to the Penn Highlands Hospital for treatment, state police said. Her vehicle was towed from the scene.
- State police investigated an alleged DUI that occurred Saturday on Route 950 in Winslow Township. During the incident, a Brockway man was allegedly stopped for summary traffic violations, and state police detected a strong odor of alcohol on his breath. He was subsequently arrested for DUI and related traffic offenses, which are pending blood test results.
State police at Punxsutawney
- State police received a report about an alleged DUI that occurred Oct. 28 on Harmony Road in Burnside Township. Further, a Burnside man was allegedly found passed out inside of his vehicle along the side of the roadway. He was allegedly determined to be under the influence and in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Charges have been filed through the district court, state police said.
State police at Ridgway
- State police received a report about an alleged DUI that occurred Friday at the intersection of Route 219 and Shawmut Road in Horton Township. Further, a Brockway man was stopped for a traffic violation, and upon a preliminary investigation, he was arrested for DUI and taken for blood testing at Penn Highlands Elk Hospital. Charges are currently pending at this time, state police said.
Clearfield Borough
- Police stopped a vehicle after the driver allegedly failed to stop for a red light. The driver was found to be under the influence and was arrested, police said.
- Police responded to a minor vehicle accident on South Second Street. There weren’t any injuries as a result, and one vehicle had to be towed from the scene, police said.
- Police responded to South Fourth Street for a female who was allegedly causing a disturbance. Police spoke with the female and were able to get her to calm down.
- Police responded to the area of East Sixth Street for a suspicious person. The male was found to live in the area, and he was out talking on his phone, police said.
- Police responded to the area of Williams and Martin streets for an alleged fight. Upon arrival police spoke with individuals in the area and were unable to locate anyone fighting.
- Police stopped a vehicle on Bigler Avenue and allegedly determined that the driver was under the influence. The driver was arrested for DUI, police said.
- Police received a call about a dog that became loose on West Cherry Street and attacked another dog.

- Police responded to J.G. Food Warehouse for an alleged incident of retail theft. One male was arrested for the theft, police said.
- Police responded to J.G. Food Warehouse for another male who allegedly committed retail theft by placing items in his fiancée’s purse in an attempt to conceal them
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of criminal mischief. During the incident, unknown actor(s) threw eggs at a residence on Richards Street.
- Police responded to a residence on South Fourth Street for an alleged disturbance. Police learned that a male who was inside the residence was yelling at his gaming system.
DuBois City
- On Friday police were dispatched to the hospital for a patient who had been involved in an unreported accident. While en route to the hospital, police observed a utility pole suspended by lines in the 500 block of South Main Street. Police located the vehicle, which caused the damage, on Spring Avenue. At the hospital, police made contact with a male who related he was the operator of the vehicle. He was allegedly determined to be under the influence of drugs. The male, according to police, is currently on state parole and was released to that agency; he was placed in the Armstrong County Jail. He will be charged for DUI. Police were assisted by the DuBois Fire Department and the Pennsylvania State Police.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of fraud Friday at a business on West Long Avenue. The owner told police she was contacted by a male who claimed to be with First Energy. He allegedly told her that electric would be shut off if she didn’t get a pre-paid card and provide the number to him. Upon investigation the business was determined to be in good standing with First Energy and that the call was a scam.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle accident Friday at the intersection of West Park Avenue and North Brady Street. Further, a vehicle was waiting to turn left onto Liberty Boulevard when it was struck in the rear bumper and trunk area after the traffic light turned green. Police assisted with the exchange of vehicle information. No injuries were reported, and both vehicles were driven from the scene, police said. Also, police determined the operator of the second vehicle was driving under suspension and with expired inspection.
- On Friday police were flagged down and responded to an incident involving a constable. The constable, police said, was attempting to serve a warrant when a male and female entered a GMC Jimmy and fled the scene. Police were alerted that the constable’s and the couple’s vehicle were in the area of Quarry Avenue. Police subsequently located the constable who had the female for whom he had an active warrant for in custody. Police stopped the male in the GMC Jimmy in the 300 block of Quarry Avenue. He was identified and determined to also have an active domestic warrant, and he was taken into custody. He was taken to the Clearfield County Jail with charges pending for hindering apprehension and several traffic violations.
- Police received a report about a suspicious person Friday in the 100 block of North Church Street. A witness told police that a male who was wearing a highly visible jacket and a head lamp, which was out, was standing on her porch. The male was last observed walking towards Scribner Avenue; however, police were unable to locate him.
- Police received a report about a single-vehicle accident that occurred Friday at the intersection of East DuBois Avenue and Division Street. Police were advised that the vehicle was on the railroad tracks and the operator was out walking around. However, the operator and the vehicle were gone upon police arrival to the scene.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of theft that occurred Friday in the 500 block of West Weber Avenue. The caller told police that someone had stolen a laser light from his front yard earlier in the day.
- Police were dispatched to Tractor Supply on Friday for an activated motion alarm. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
Sandy Township
- On Friday a 59-year-old Wayne Road man alleged that someone came on the porch of his house and pulled down decorations that were hanging on it.
- Officers received a report about a stray pit pull found near the Oklahoma Fire Hall on Friday. Officers picked up the dog and housed it in the department kennel.
- A 39-year-old DuBois man reported the alleged theft of firearms on Saturday. Police are continuing their investigation.
- Someone hit and knocked down a light pole on Creation Drive and then left the scene on Saturday.
- Police received a report about a false alarm at CNB Bank on Saturday.
- A 56-year-old Treasure Lake man lost control on of his vehicle Saturday on Clear Run Road. It traveled off the roadway and hit several small trees. No injuries were reported, and the vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
