Banksy’s latest work appears on a wall in a Calais, France, refugee camp and features Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.
Photographs of the work are featured on the graffiti artist’s website. One photo of Jobs, a computer in one hand and a sack over his shoulder, is captioned, “the son of a migrant from Syria.”
Another caption reads, “We’re not all in the same boat.”
The photos on his website show tents in front of the walls, other graffiti scrawled on walls near his work: “Nobody deserves to live this way.”
According to the BBC, in a rare public statement, Banksy said, “We’re often led to believe migration is a drain on the country’s resources but Steve Jobs was the son of a Syrian migrant.”
Earlier this year, Banksy announced that his theme park Dismaland was going to be turned into shelters for migrants in the Calais camp. “The Jungle” is home to at least 3,000 migrants from countries including Sudan, Syria and Afghanistan.
