A 15-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man have been arrested after counterterrorism raids in Sydney as part of an ongoing Australian Federal Police operation, authorities said Thursday.
The suspects were charged with conspiring to conduct an act in preparation for terrorism.
Police said in a news conference the plots could have included attacks on government buildings, including the headquarters of the Australian Federal Police, as well as on random civilians.
In a statement, federal police said the charges related to material seized in December 2014.
