CLEARFIELD – A Curwensville woman will be spending time in jail for having sex with two teen boys.
Stephanie Ann Embick, 31, 583 Naulton Rd., Curwensville, pleaded guilty Monday to statutory sexual assault-11 years or older, two counts of corruption of minors and indecent assault person less than 16-years of age.
President Judge Fredric J. Ammerman sentenced her to six months to one year in jail and two years consecutive probation. She was ordered to complete the Project Point of Light program and she will have to register her address under Megan’s Law for 15 years.
Because of the felony charge, she must submit to DNA testing at a cost of $250. She was fined $450 plus costs.
The charges stem from an incident in August of 2014 when she had sex with two boys after inviting them into her home.
Prior to sentencing, her attorney, Curtis Irwin stated that Embick was intoxicated during the incident. He asked the judge to give her a chance because this “was a one time incident.”
Ammerman called this “a rather odd case” and noted that she could have gone to a bar and picked up a man instead of approaching the teens outside her home. He also commented that this will “follow her forever.”
Because of her limited prior record, Ammerman stated that he couldn’t justify sending her to state prison.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, the boys told police they were riding their bikes on the street around 2 a.m. when Embick walked up to them. The boys said she touched and rubbed on them before she invited them into her home. She was intoxicated according to one of the victims who said she smelled of alcohol and was slurring her words.
She asked them to lie down on the couch. The boys didn’t do this, but instead sat on the opposite ends of the couch while she sat between them. She then reached over and turned off the lamp, leaving them in the dark.
One of them said he couldn’t tell how close she was but he could feel her breath on his cheek as she spoke. She started kissing one of the boys. Embick then got onto the floor and asked the boys to join her.
One of them did. While they were on the floor, she told him “I want you” and “I love you.” The victim got up and sat back on the couch.
Embick then pulled on his leg and got him back on the floor. She performed a sex act on him before they had intercourse, he told police.
Afterward, this first victim returned to the couch and the second victim got onto the floor where he had sex with her, according to the second victim.
When they were finished the boys sat around and “chatted” for two or three hours before they left.
During an interview with police, Embick initially denied sexual contact with either teen but eventually admitted to it. She said it just happened and she wasn’t sure how it was initiated.
