Three suicide bombers carried out coordinated attacks Saturday at a village market in Chad, killing 27 people and wounding about 80 others, security sources said.
The bombers struck three different parts of the busy weekly market in Loulou Fou, which is on an island in Lake Chad near the border with Nigeria.
Although no one has claimed responsibility, security sources say the attacks bear the hallmark of Boko Haram, a militant Islamic group based in northern Nigeria. The group has launched previous attacks in Chad, as well as Cameroon and Niger.
