PennDOT program to aid PA bridge replacement

On June 18, the “Pennsy Bridge” on U.S. Route 219 in Ridgeway, Pa. partially col­lapsed, injuring three construction work­ers, one critically, and backing up traffic for miles. The bridge, which was built in 1912 and carries about 5,600 vehicles a day across Elk Creek in Ridgway, was un­dergoing a $2.2 million rehabilitation by Francis J. Palo Inc.
