On June 18, the “Pennsy Bridge” on U.S. Route 219 in Ridgeway, Pa. partially collapsed, injuring three construction workers, one critically, and backing up traffic for miles. The bridge, which was built in 1912 and carries about 5,600 vehicles a day across Elk Creek in Ridgway, was undergoing a $2.2 million rehabilitation by Francis J. Palo Inc.
