CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Revitalization Corp. (CRC) has announced its holiday promotion series: Shop Clearfield for the Holidays.
The CRC has introduced the opportunity again this year to promote shopping local. The promotion will kick-off with the “12 Days of Clearfield for the Holidays.”
This Facebook promotion will showcase a variety of items that can be purchased locally for anyone on your list. The promotion will run Nov. 24 through Dec. 4 on the CRC’s Facebook page.
The CRC would like to encourage everyone to come downtown Nov. 28 for Small Business Saturday. Understanding the important contributions small businesses make to their communities, the CRC is pleased to announce its participation in Small Business Saturday.
Shoppers can stop by to support local businesses and receive Shop Small® giveaways. Downtown businesses will be offering specials and the Liddle Gallery will be offering free gift wrapping.
The CRC will also be set up at the Henry & Co. building providing free gift wrapping and snacks for downtown shoppers from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. sponsored by Hughes Engineering and Curry & Associates.
Clearfield Borough police and the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging are teaming up to bring holiday cheer to senior citizens. During your day of local shopping, you can pick a tag from the giving tree at Clearfield Pharmacy or CVS Pharmacy on Small Business Saturday.
The CRC would also like to invite you Nov. 28 to celebrate the official light-up kickoff of the holiday season from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. This will be your chance to watch the downtown come alive for the holiday season with the lighting of the community tree at the Clearfield County Courthouse Square.
The community tree was provided by Lanager’s Landscape & Lawncare. The Clearfield Volunteer Fire Department will be available to place the ornaments on the tree for this event. You can stop into the Liddle Gallery to purchase ($2) and decorate your ornament for the tree until Nov. 19.
Pastries will be provided by the Clearfield County Career & Technology Center culinary students and hot chocolate by The Salvation Army from their canteen truck for this event. The Clearfield Choral Society will provide Christmas carols.
Individuals, families, organizations, churches and other groups are invited to create ornaments for the tree. Ornaments must be durable and weatherproof for use outdoors for at least six weeks in wet and wintry conditions.
Ornaments should be decorated with colorful materials that, if possible, are reflective. To minimize environmental impact, ornament makers are encouraged to use wood or recycled materials.
Ornaments should be eight to 10 inches in size, light weight and light in color and relatively simple in design so they can be enjoyed from a distance. They must be ready for hanging with a heavy wire attached to the top corners.
Ornament makers are encouraged to add their name, organization and the year on the backs of the ornaments they create for the tree. Those made of glass or other breakable materials cannot be accepted and those contributed will not be returned.
The towering community tree will be glowing with lights and shimmering ornaments at approximately 4:45 p.m. to commence the holiday season.
In addition, patrons can be rewarded for visiting downtown businesses throughout this holiday season. The CRC will be hosting a Frequent Visitor Program from Nov. 28 through Dec. 4.
For every five visits to a participating downtown business, patrons can be entered to win one of many gift certificates. The Frequent Visitor Program cards are available at the participating merchants, and no purchase is required.
The CRC will host its annual Taste of the Town Spirit Tour from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Dec. 4. It has partnered with local wineries, and each participating business location will offer a different beverage sample and complimentary food item.
Plus, there will be exclusive specials for those on the tour. To participate in this event, please register with the CRC.
Early-registration tickets are $20 each through Nov. 28 and include a wristband, souvenir glass and walking map. The CRC will only be selling 300 tickets for this event. Any available tickets after Nov. 28 are $25.
Tickets can be purchased at Jim’s Sports Center, Zalno Jewelers, Clearfield Pharmacy and the CRC office Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. at 6 S. Front St., or by calling 814-765-6000.

The Clearfield Elks BPOE No. 540 will host the after party with entertainment by Brandon Giuffre. Their food special for the evening will be wings by the bakers dozen (13) for $10.
