Sheetz Celebrates Veterans Day with Free Meal

ALTOONA – Sheetz will be showing its gratitude for veterans and active duty military personnel this Veterans Day.

On Wednesday, Nov. 11, Sheetz would like to invite all veterans and current servicemen and women to enjoy a free six-inch turkey sub, regular size fountain drink and a carwash at all Sheetz locations, by presenting a military ID or proof of service.

“Supporting the military community is important to the Sheetz family and our organization; we hope our veterans and active duty military will join us on Veterans Day as a way for us to say thank you for their service.” said Joe Sheetz, chief executive officer of Sheetz.

“We are thankful to have the opportunity on Veterans Day to show our appreciation for military personnel who have selflessly sacrificed for us.”

In addition, Sheetz has been a proud supporter of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), contributing more than $250,000 to help IAVA provide free transitional programs to veterans.

IAVA is the first and largest non-profit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to improving the lives of new vets and their families.

For the past three years, Sheetz locations have offered $1 dog tag magnets for purchase to benefit IAVA. The purchase of theses magnets will provide critical assistance to allow IAVA’s innovative health, education, employment and community programs to reach as many of the 2.8 million new veterans as possible.
