Workforce Solutions for North Central PA, the Workforce Development Board serving Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, Jefferson, McKean and Potter counties, is excited to announce a new initiative aimed at enhancing career opportunities for job seekers of all ages.
Workforce Solutions is looking for employers from all industries interested in showcasing their company and career pathways – at no cost to the employers.
“In today’s job market, young people are not just looking for employment,” states Pam Streich, executive director, but “they seek clear pathways to future opportunities.
“Our goal is to develop an innovative web application that will help students, job seekers and individuals understand the long-term career growth and progression available within participating employers in our six-county region.
“The application will visually represent the career ladder within a company, highlighting entry-level positions and potential career advancements.”
Participating employers will work with Workforce Solutions staff and an experienced career pathway mapping consultant, Loretta Lininger to identify key career entry points, document the flow of positions, outline necessary duties, and specify educational or training requirements, along with potential salary ranges.
The Career Pathways Mapping project not only serves as a valuable resource for students and job seekers but also offers participating companies’ insights into their hiring needs and succession planning.
Furthermore, increased visibility and awareness of local employers will result from your involvement in this community-focused initiative.
“By knowing the employers in our region and the career opportunities that exist in our backyard we open up the possibilities of individual career growth in our region; thus, keeping our employees and future employees here or coming back to the North Central Workforce Development Area,” states Donna Hottel, strategic planning and project manager for Workforce Solutions.
