Clearfield JV Football Team Shuts Out Brockway 47-0

HYDE — The Clearfield Area HIgh School Junior Varsity football team put the exclamation point on a season-ending four game winning streak while drubbing the visiting Brockway Rovers 47-0 Monday night at the Bison Sports Complex.

The win closes out the season for the Bison underclassmen at 5-2.

The Bison got off to a quick start on Monday building up a 12-0 first quarter lead and never looked back. Ty Bender had a 1-yard run, while Hunter Bumbarger caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Isaac Rumery. Both PATs were blocked.

The Bison ‘D’ got in on the scoring act in the second quarter when John Maines and Bumbarger sacked the Rover QB in the Bison endzone for a safety.

Clearfield put the Rovers away with two more scores in the quarter leading to a 27-0 halftime lead.

Rumery ran in from a yard out, and Colton Probst scampered in from 18 yards out. Jake Sorbera tacked on his first of three extra points on the  night.

In the third quarter, a Spencer Graham 16 yard touchdown reception from Rumery closed out the offensive scoring for the Bison.

However, the Bison defenders weren’t through scoring as Maines and Probst each scored on “Pick-6’s”. Maines for 54 yards and Probst covered 67 yards for their scores.

Ryan Lazuaskas had an interception earlier in the game, while Graham recovered a fumble to help ensure the shut out.
