PENFIELD – Programs have been announced for Nov. 6-7 at the Parker Dam State Park.

Friday, Nov. 6

Pennsylvania Wildcat

2 p.m. – Environmental Education Classroom

This awe-inspiring animal has intrigued many populations from Native Americans to early settlers, and even the people of today.  Learn all about the natural history of the Bobcat and Pennsylvania’s management practices.

Saturday, Nov. 7

Timber Rattlers

Guest – Stacy Foster, Wildlife Expert

2 p.m. – Environmental Education Classroom 

Myths about snakes have earned them bad reputations.  Chances are, some of what you think you know is unfounded.  Learn how timber rattlesnakes survive in their habitat and how their reputation is often skewed. They are amazing creatures with many special adaptations and the more you understand them (whether you like them or not), the more you may appreciate them.  There will be live critters for you to observe and discuss.
