25 dead, scores injured after fire breaks out at Romanian nightclub

At least 25 people died and 88 were injured when a fire broke out at a nightclub in Bucharest, Romania, late Friday, police said.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.

The club, Colectiv, was hosting a show that featured pyrotechnics, according to its website.

Romanian President Klaus Lohannis said he was “shocked and deeply saddened” by the news.

“It is a very sad moment for all of us, for our nation and for me personally,” he said in a post to his Facebook page.
