MIFFLINTOWN — The Clearfield VFW Fall Baseball Team split a doubleheader with host Juniata Sunday afternoon, winning the opener 13-3 with a 12-hit attack.
A 4-2 loss in the nightcap left Clearfield with a 5-3-1 record.
Will Myers pitched a four-hitter with nine strikeouts in the first game while Tommy Hazel led the offense with two doubles and a single and Justin Fedder and Hunter Hipps added two singles apiece.
Zane Morgan was tagged with the defeat in the second game though fanning nine and surrendering only four hits.
Seth Bumbarger and Jarrit Wagner each had two singles for Clearfield.
On Saturday, Clearfield scored eight runs in the first inning en route to a 13-2 victory over West Branch at the Lawrence Township Recreation Park Field.
Bumbarger drove in three runs with two doubles and Hipps had a triple and four RBIs.
Fedder was the winning hurler.
Clearfield will go to West Branch’s home diamond Saturday for a 1:30 game and then host Mifflin County Sunday in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
