State police at Clearfield
- An accident occurred Friday on Chesterfield Road in Bigler Township. Brian Keith Jr. of Philipsburg was traveling west when he swerved his vehicle in an attempt to miss a deer. His vehicle then traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch and then overturned onto its side; it came to a rest against a large tree. No injuries were reported, and both Keith and his passenger were wearing seatbelts, state police said. Keith’s vehicle sustained disabling damage.
- An accident occurred Thursday on the Shawville-Frenchville Highway in Girard Township. Ashley L. Sabatula of Frenchville was traveling east when a deer emerged from the north berm. Her vehicle struck the deer and she drove onto the south berm of the roadway.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Saturday on Blackburn Road in Bigler Township. During the incident, a 19-year-old Ramey man allegedly threw a rock at the victim’s mailbox, which caused damage to it. He was cited for the incident, state police said.
- An incident of DUI occurred Sunday on Route 53 just north of the Allport Cutoff in Morris Township. During the incident, a 21-year-old Morrisdale man was allegedly stopped for a traffic violation and determined to be under the influence of alcohol. He was taken into custody for DUI, state police said.
- An incident of theft occurred sometime between Sept. 17 and Saturday in the 400 block of Naulton Road Extension in Pike Township. During the incident, someone allegedly removed the victim’s mailbox from its post. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- On Sunday a 25-year-old Bronx, NY woman allegedly carried an alcoholic beverage into the Moshannon Valley Correctional Facility in Decatur Township. It was allegedly an attempt to furnish an inmate with alcohol, state police said. The woman was placed in the Clearfield County Jail pending arraignment.
- An accidental shooting incident occurred Sunday on Front Street in Glen Hope Borough. The incident remains under investigation at this time, state police said.
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime between July 30 and Aug. 3 on Main Street in Grampian Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly dumped oil onto the victim’s vehicle, while it was parked outside of her residence. - An incident of public drunkenness, retail theft, harassment and disorderly conduct occurred Sunday at the Harbor Inn and Sheetz parking lot area on West Front Street in Decatur Township. During the incident, a Philipsburg woman was allegedly causing a disturbance by walking in and out of Sheetz and yelling unknown words. She allegedly entered Sheetz barefooted and removed a bag of chips and a bottle of soda, and then left without paying for the items. She also allegedly made a verbal threat toward another woman while inside the Harbor Inn. Upon making contact with the woman, state police allegedly determined she was under the influence of an unknown central nervous system stimulant. She was transported to the Clearfield County Jail on a 48-hour detainer, and numerous summary charges are to be filed against her through the district court, state police said.
- An incident of simple assault occurred Sunday on Main Street in Beccaria Township. During the incident, a 34-year-old Pittsburgh man and the victim allegedly engaged in a verbal altercation. The man allegedly struck the victim across the face, and she was taken to the hospital due to a cut sustained on her face. The man has been charged for the incident through the district court, state police said.
State police at DuBois
- An incident of burglary occurred sometime Sept. 18-19 on Hill Street in Washington Township. Further, the victim alleged to state police that $1,000 in U.S. Currency was removed from his kitchen while he was sleeping and his doors were unlocked. - An incident of theft by unlawful taking occurred sometime between Sept. 17 and Sept. 21 at Fran Morelli Sales and Services in Snyder Township. During the incident, someone allegedly broke into a Pepsi vending machine, causing damage to it. They also allegedly removed the dollar bill exchanger and change from the machine. State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of DUI/Act 64 violation occurred Sunday in the area of South Front and West Maple streets in Philipsburg Borough. Further, state police stopped Loganton man after he allegedly committed several traffic violations. Upon investigation state police allegedly found he was under the influence of alcohol and there was a small bag of marijuana inside the vehicle. Criminal charges are currently pending blood test results, state police said.
- An accident occurred Sunday on Black Bear Lane in Rush Township. Further, a Philipsburg girl was traveling north when she failed to stop her vehicle at the end of the roadway and struck a post. She was wearing her seatbelt and didn’t sustain any injuries. The girl’s vehicle sustained major front end damage and was towed from the scene, state police said.
- An incident of disorderly conduct occurred Sunday on North Fourth Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, a 27-year-old man was allegedly making unreasonable noise that didn’t serve any legitimate purpose. He was cited for the incident, state police said.
State police at Punxsutawney
- An incident of harassment occurred Sept. 23 on Route 36 in Rose Township. During the incident, a 32-year-old Brookville man and the victim allegedly engaged in a verbal argument. It became physical when the man allegedly nudged the victim and threatened him. No charges were filed per the request of the victim, state police said.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of criminal mischief occurred Saturday on Land Vest property off of Long Level Road in Ridgway Township. During the incident, someone allegedly damaged a metal gate; damage was reported at $1,500, state police said.
- An incident of public drunkenness/underage drinking occurred Sunday on Evergreen Drive in Ridgway Township. During the incident, a 20-year-old Johnsonburg man allegedly appeared in public manifestly under the influence of alcohol. He was also under the age of 21 years old. The man was cited for the incident through the district court, state police said.
Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to an activated fire alarm at a residence along West First Avenue. Police found that the owner had burned some food, which activated the alarm.
- Police responded to West Side for writing that was allegedly placed on the new wall for the riverwalk. Police found that someone had allegedly used chalk to write on the wall.
- A set of keys was turned into police. The owner was located and responded to the station to obtain his keys, police said.
- Police were called about an alleged theft of a cable converter box from a North Third Street resident.
- Police received a call regarding a helmet that was removed from a motorcycle while it was parked in the hospital parking lot. The owner later called back police and advised that he located the helmet, as it had fallen off the bike.
- Police were called to Sheetz for a male who was allegedly harassing employees. The male was found outside and advised by staff to leave the property; he then left the area, police said.
- Police responded to North Third Street for a report about a female who was allegedly intoxicated and being violent. Police located the female and determined that no one wanted to pursue any charges.
- Police assisted crisis with a patient along East Pine Street.
- Police received a report about a vehicle that was smashed from a resident along Park Avenue.
- Police were called regarding a child custody/harassment complaint.
- Police responded to several animal complaints.
- Police assisted a male with gaining entry into his vehicle after he locked the keys inside along School Avenue.
- Police responded to Sheetz for a report about found property. Police said that a black bag was found abandoned and contained several medications.
- Police cleared individuals out of Lower Witmer Park after its closing.
- Police checked on a suspicious male along North Third Street and found that he was OK.
- Police responded to a drug overdose along South Fourth Street. The patient, according to police, was found to be coherent. After receiving medical attention, the patient was housed in jail on a probation detainer; charges for drug possession were also filed through the district court, police said.
- Police received a report for the alleged theft of money. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a burning complaint that occurred along the Clearfield-Curwensville Highway.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident that occurred on Industrial Park Road. Further, an unknown vehicle reportedly struck a business.
- Police responded to a family issue at a Nelson Road residence.
- Police responded to an alleged domestic dispute in the Hyde area. It was handled at the scene, police said.
- Police responded to an activated alarm at the Kwik Fill on South Second Street. Everything was found to be OK, police said.
- Police responded to a 911 hang-up call in the Elwood Drive area.
- Police received a report about an all-terrain vehicle on the roadway near Barn and Nelson roads.
- Police responded to an alleged domestic dispute in the area of Lawrence Avenue.
- Police received a report about a pit bull in the area of Riverview Road.
- Police received a report about a loud barking dog in the area of Shady Lane.
- Police received a report about an alleged disturbance on Putty Road. The incident remains under investigation with charges pending, police said.
Sandy Township
- On Friday a 56-year-old Treasure Lake man reported that he felt someone had tampered with his camper. Upon investigation officers could not find any evidence that the camper had been tampered with.
- A 17-year-old Ridgway girl was unable to stop her vehicle in time to avoid hitting a motorcycle being driven by a 54-year-old Johnsonburg man who was stopped in traffic on the Bee Line Highway on Friday. Upon impact the motorcycle tipped over and sustained severe damage; no injuries to the driver and passenger of the motorcycle were reported, police said.
- A woman reported that a truck followed her off of the interstate and into the Sheetz parking lot on Saturday. The vehicle then left the area prior to her contacting the police.
- On Saturday Wendy’s employees reported receiving counterfeit bills for payment on two, separate occasions.
- On Sunday a 53-year-old Breck Road woman alleged that two pick-ups were trespassing on posted property. When she confronted the drivers an argument ensued, and then the offenders left. Officers were able to contact one of the drivers and handled the situation without incident.
