CLEARFIELD – Penn Highlands Clearfield was recently awarded a three-year term of accreditation in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as a result of a recent survey by the American College of Radiology.
MRI is an imaging procedure used by physicians to look inside the human body to obtain diagnostic information. The ACR, headquartered in Reston, Va., awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of the practice.
Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who assess the qualifications of personnel and the adequacy of facility equipment.
According to the ACR, accreditation demonstrates commitment to high quality patient care.
