Thompson: Grant Funding to Support Job Creation in North Central Counties

WASHINGTON, DC – On Thursday U.S. Rep. Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-05) announced the award of $70,000 in grant funding to the North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission, from the U.S. Economic Development Administration.  The funding will be used by North Central to develop and implement strategies for job creation and investment.

“Economic Development Districts such as North Central are instrumental in helping enhance their region’s capacity to support creativity, innovation and economic growth” Thompson, who is a member of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, said.  “I commend those at North Central involved in securing this funding and know it will be put to good use in planning for the future.”

“A successful economic development strategy is a path toward economic growth,” said North Central Executive Director Eric Bridges.  “This funding and the strategy it supports, will help ensure that the public and private sectors work together to promote job creation and private capital investment in our region.”
