CLEARFIELD – Plans are in the works to repair a retaining wall damaged in a traffic accident.
At Thursday’s Clearfield Borough Council work session, Engineer Todd Banks said work is under way to come up with options on repairs to a 70-year-old, stacked-block retaining wall on Sixth Street.
Banks said the wall was damaged when it was struck by a vehicle several weeks ago. He said the damage was quite extensive in certain areas of the wall.
Banks said he is presently putting together some recommendations for the repairs and will present the options to the council when they are prepared.
Banks added that the Streetscape project is still progressing swiftly.
Also at the meeting, Code Enforcement Officer Larry Mack gave an update on the former Batcho property.
Mack said the property is under new ownership, but declined to name the person or persons who purchased it. He said the deteriorating garage will be demolished and there are plans to renovate the building.
Mack said the building will be divided into two sections, which will be used as office space for two businesses. He said the area where the garage is will be used for parking.
