Ten people were wounded in a bombing early Monday at a police station in Istanbul, Turkey’s semi-official Anadolu news agency reported.
Three police officers were among those hurt in the blast in the city’s Sultanbeyli district, the agency said, citing police.
Also Monday, shots were reportedly fired near the U.S. consulate in Istanbul.
Turkish authorities have detained one person suspected of involvement in the shooting and are hunting for another, Anadolu reported. No casualties were reported at the consulate, it said.
The exact circumstances of the consulate shooting remained unclear.
“There was a security incident this morning near the U.S. Consulate General in Istanbul,” the consulate said in a short statement. “We are working with Turkish authorities to investigate the incident. The Consulate General remains closed to the public until further notice.”
Video footage showed police officers with rifles blocking off the streets outside the consulate in the Sariyer neighborhood of Istanbul.
It wasn’t immediately clear who was behind the two incidents or if they were connected in any way.
