ISIS gunfire from Syria kills Turkey soldier, official says

One Turkish soldier was killed and several others were injured by cross-border weapons fire from an ISIS-controlled area in Syria on Thursday, a Turkish official told CNN on condition of anonymity.

The soldiers were hit in Turkey’s southern Kilis province, along the country’s border with Syria, Turkey’s semiofficial Anadolu news agency reported.

Turkish forces responded by firing across the border, and that a gunfire exchange continued early Thursday evening, Anadolu reported.
