Ingrid Nilsen has shared her secret.
The popular YouTube star and “Project Runway: Threads” judge released a video on Tuesday in which she revealed that she is gay. The 26-year-old star says she has known since she was young that she is a lesbian but hid it because she “grew up in an environment where homosexuality wasn’t universally accepted.”
“I’m gay,” she announced online.
“It feels so good to say that,” Nilsen said, as she burst into tears.
The beauty vlogger said it was important to her to share the news of her sexuality with her followers, who have supported her in the past. She discussed everything from her past relationships with men to coming out to her friends and family.
Now Nilsen says she is excited to get on with her life after the reveal.
“I want to live my life unapologetically because I am proud of who I am and I am not going to apologize for who I am anymore,” she said. “This is the life I have always lived in my head and now its real.”
