Video: Kidnapped French woman pleads for release from Yemen

A newly released video shows a kidnapped woman begging the French and Yemeni presidents to help secure her release.

“Mr. Hollande and Mr. Hadi, my name is Isabelle,” the woman says softly in English. “I’ve been kidnapped 10 weeks ago in Yemen, in Sanaa. Please bring me to France fast because I’m really, really tired. I tried to kill myself several times.”

CNN cannot verify the authenticity of the video, but the French Foreign Ministry has identified the woman as Isabelle Prime.

”All relevant state services are mobilized to obtain the release of our compatriot,” the French Foreign Ministry told CNN.

Prime was working for an international organization when she was kidnapped along with her Yemeni translator in Sanaa earlier this year.

In the 21-second video, posted to YouTube on Monday, Prime is covered in black clothing and sitting with her arms hugging her legs.

It’s not clear who may have kidnapped Prime; no person or group has claimed responsibility.

But at least three Americans are still being held by Houthi rebels in Yemen, a Yemeni government official and a senior U.S. official said.

Another American, journalist Casey Coombs, was freed recently after U.S. officials met with Houthi rebels to push for his release, senior Obama administration officials said.

Those talks were facilitated by Oman, according to officials.

The Houthis, backed by Iran, have ousted the Yemeni government from the capital city of Sanaa.

There may be other Americans being held in war-torn Yemen, the officials said.
