ExporeJefferson: PSP: DuBois Man Allegedly Flees Attempted Traffic Stop, Strikes Police Cruiser, Resists Arrest

SYKESVILLE BOROUGH – DuBois-based state police say a DuBois man faces several charges, including aggravated assault after an attempted traffic stop last night led to a police chase.

According to state police, sometime between 11 p.m. and 11:20 p.m., a trooper from PSP Punxsutawney attempted to make a traffic stop within Sykesville Borough on a 1995 Buick Century being operated by 52-year-old Bob Allen Larson of DuBois.

State police say Larson “refused to stop for the trooper and a chase ensued.”

During the chase, Larson committed several traffic violations, “including striking the state police cruiser with his vehicle,” according to state police.

Larson was finally stopped when the trooper deployed legal intervention by striking Larson’s vehicle, causing it to spin and come to a rest at the intersection of South Brady Street and Washington Avenue in DuBois City, state police say.

During apprehension, Larson allegedly resisted arrest and kicked and punched the officers at the scene, according to state police.

Larson was charged with the following offenses:

State police were assisted by DuBois City and Sandy Township police departments.
