At least 76 people were wounded when a suicide bomber blew up his explosives-laden truck near a provincial building in southern Afghanistan on Monday, authorities said.
The blast destroyed the provincial capital building in Qalat City and damaged several nearby government buildings, said Ghulam Jilani Farahi, deputy police chief of Zabul province.
Farahi estimates the truck was carrying about 1,000 kilograms (2,200 lbs) of explosives.
