Gunmen stormed a hotel in Afghanistan’s capital Wednesday, leaving guests trapped inside.
At least one person was injured in the siege at the Park Palace Guest House in Kabul, Police Chief Abdul Rahman Rahimi said.
Within an hour after the siege began, Afghan special forces had surrounded the premises, a police official told CNN. Sporadic gunfire could be heard.
An Afghan-Canadian national who was rescued from the hotel with five others told CNN he believed dozens of people remained trapped inside.
The police chief said some people had been rescued, and forces were working to clear the building.
