CLEARFIELD – Deborah Hilliard of DuBois who was accused of taking almost $200,000 from her mother has been sentenced to state prison.

Hilliard pleaded guilty to two counts of theft by unlawful taking, failure to make required disposition of funds and access device fraud.

President Judge Fredric J. Ammerman sentenced her to 10 months to 14 years in state prison. She was also ordered to pay $196,030 in restitution to her mother’s estate, a nursing home and a pharmacy company.

According to court documents, charges stem from Hilliard’s activity from July of 2008 to August of 2012 when she charged airline tickets, car rentals and more on her mother’s credit card and took long-term care insurance payments intended for a nursing home.

During this same time, although she was handling her mother’s finances, she failed to pay for the nursing home and her mother’s prescription bill.
