State police at Clearfield
- A hit-and-run accident occurred Monday at the intersection of Ridge Street and Route 453 in Bigler Township. Further, a motorist was trying to make a right-hand turn onto Ridge Street and lost control of their vehicle. Their vehicle exited the southern shoulder and collided with a street sign and wooden pole; the motorist entered the roadway after that and traveled south. The accident remains under investigation at this time; anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
State police at DuBois
- An accident occurred Monday on U.S. Route 219 in Washington Township. Kimberly M. Martell of Brockway was traveling behind Sharon J. Davison of Ridgway. Davison slowed for a vehicle ahead of her, which was turning; however, Martell failed to slow and rear-ended the Davison vehicle. Davison sustained minor injuries, state police said. State police were assisted at the scene by Brockway and Falls Creek fire personnel, Brockway Emergency Medical Services and towing services.
State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of theft of services occurred Sunday on West Presqueisle Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, the victim allegedly witnessed a 36-year-old Philipsburg man dumping trash into her dumpster. The man admitted to the same; citations were filed against him through the district court, state police said.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a parking complaint.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a male who was reportedly walking along Route 322. Upon arrival police made contact with the male who was out for a walk.
- Police have initiated investigations into two alleged incidents of theft by deception at the Wal-Mart Supercenter.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of stalking that occurred along Washington Avenue. However, police determined the complainant was having a psychological emergency.
- Police received a report about an alleged phone scam. The caller, police said, claimed to be a representative with the IRS.
- Police received a report about an alleged theft that occurred at a local residence. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle at the Clearfield Area Elementary School. The vehicle was gone prior to police arrival at the scene.
Curwensville Borough
- Police received a report about a man who was allegedly being disorderly at the Curwensville Commons. However, he left the complex prior to police arrival.
- Police received a report about a resident who received a phone call from a man claiming to be an IRS agent. Police would like to warn residents to use caution and not to provide personal information over the phone. Police also remind residents that the IRS communicates via mail correspondence.
