Two helicopters crashed into each other in Argentina on Monday evening, killing 10 people, the country’s state news agency Telam reported.
Eight of the dead were French citizens and two were Argentinians, the agency said, citing police official Fabian Gordillo.
The helicopters were heading to the town of Villa Castelli in northwestern Argentina as part of the filming of a reality TV show. It gave the name of the show in Spanish as “Supervivencia al Desnudo.”
Telam said the survival show was produced by an international production company and broadcast in Europe by the Discovery Channel.
The crash happened within moments of takeoff in good weather conditions, Telam reported, citing witnesses who spoke to a local radio station.
The helicopters collided about 100 meters (328 feet) above the ground, the news agency said.
Police and investigators were at the scene of the crash.
