‘Dozens’ killed in northern Nigeria explosions

“Dozens” of people were killed in a series of explosions in northern Nigeria on Saturday, witness and hospital sources told CNN.

Blasts in Maiduguri, the capital of the tumultuous Borno state, were reported at two markets and a bus station.

The city’s main market, the Baga Road fish market, was targeted.

The Islamist militant group Boko Haram has terrorized northern Nigeria and neighboring Cameroon, killing hundreds in recent months.

Security forces are investigating the blasts.
