DUBOIS – A 34-year-old DuBois man, Robert Allen Selfridge, allegedly found in possession of handguns, various drugs and paraphernalia and a large amount of U.S. currency waived his right to a preliminary hearing today during Centralized Court before Magisterial District Judge Patrick Ford.
Sergeant Kris Kruzelak of the Sandy Township police has charged Selfridge with possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, F, two counts; persons not to possess, use, manufacture, control, sell or transfer firearms, F2; firearms not to be carried without a license, F3; possession of a controlled substance, M, four counts; possession of a small amount of marijuana, M; and possession of drug paraphernalia, M.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Feb. 19, police responded to the Homewood Suites on Industrial Drive, DuBois, for an activated fire alarm. Upon arrival police were informed that the hotel’s fire alarm had been activated and smoke was detected in Room 235.
Police were also advised that when hotel staff entered the room, they smelled burnt marijuana. Hotel staff stated that several occupants fled the room, except for one male, who was placing unknown items into two duffel bags.
Police were advised by hotel staff that the male left the room and placed the bags into a car. He then returned to the hotel to pay for the room for an additional night. Hotel staff stated that the male proceeded down the hall to the restroom at the same time police arrived at the scene.
Police made contact with the male, identified as Selfridge, and he was taken into custody. Hotel staff directed police to the car that Selfridge had placed the bags in and observed a knitted bag filled with several plastic bags.
Police also allegedly smelled the odor of marijuana at the car. Upon obtaining and executing a search warrant, police allegedly located three handguns, methamphetamine, marijuana, cocaine, buprenorphine hydrochloride, prescription pills, various items of drug paraphernalia, a large amount of U.S. currency and a wallet containing Selfridge’s Pennsylvania photo identification.
Selfridge’s bail was reduced to $1 million monetary at the preliminary hearing, according to online court documents.
