DUBOIS – A DuBois woman was found to have a BAC of over 0.300 percent following a two-vehicle crash in DuBois.
According to an affidavit of probable cause filed with District Judge Patrick Ford’s office on Feb. 17, Katelyn Fae McClure, 329, 1118 Juniata St. Ext., DuBois, is charged by the DuBois City police with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, careless driving and one summary traffic charge.
According to the affidavit, officers were called to a two-vehicle accident Jan. 15 at the intersection of Beaver Drive and Liberty Boulevard.
Officers spoke to the driver of the first vehicle, who allegedly told police she was stopped for a red light and was struck from behind by the second vehicle.
Police then spoke to the driver of the second vehicle, identified as McClure. Police could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from McClure and when officers asked for her phone number, McClure allegedly spelled her first name. McClure was also displaying bloodshot eyes, slurred speech and was having trouble putting together complete sentences.
After failing field sobriety test, McClure was given a breath test, which was positive for the presence of alcohol.
McClure was then taken to Penn Highlands DuBois for blood alcohol testing. The tests showed McClure had a BAC greater than 0.300 percent at the time of the incident.
