An explosion Tuesday at a bus station in the northeastern Nigerian town of Potiskum killed at least 13 people and injured 25 others, a representative of Nigeria’s National Emergency Management Agency said.
The cause of the explosion wasn’t immediately known, NEMA representative Mohammed Kanar said.
Northeastern Nigeria has seen regular attacks on police and civilians by Islamist terrorist group Boko Haram since 2009. The group, which has recently increased its attacks in a country preparing for a March 28 presidential election, also has launched attacks in neighboring Cameroon and Chad.
