State police at DuBois
- On Wednesday, a 27-year-old Falls Creek man, Corey Crawford, was stopped and allegedly found in possession of drugs on Larkeytown Road in Sandy Township. He was also found to have a pending warrant from Alleghany County. The man was arraigned and lodged at the Clearfield County Jail in lieu of bail.
State police at Ridgway
- An incident of receiving stolen property occurred Jan. 25 in Spring Creek Township. During the incident, a 29-year-old St. Marys man, Chad R. McConahy, was allegedly found in possession of a handgun that had been reported stolen on Nov. 21, 2014. St. Marys police recovered the handgun. McConahy was arraigned and lodged in the Elk County Prison. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
Clearfield Borough
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident on North Second Street. Further, a vehicle was legally parked when an unknown vehicle traveling northbound struck the driver’s side mirror, causing it to fall to the ground. The suspect vehicle then fled the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
- Police handled an incident of harassment in which a female allegedly directed threats toward another female over the phone.
- Police assisted a state constable with serving a warrant on a female resident along East Locust Street.
- Police received a report from a female regarding her medication being stolen from her vehicle. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police assisted a motorist who had become stuck when backing out of his driveway along East Sixth Street.
- Police responded to an activated alarm at a local pharmacy. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK and the alarm to be false.
- A check card was located along Nichols Street. Police will locate the owner and return the card.
- Police arrested a female on outstanding warrants from Lawrence Township after conducting a traffic stop. The female was turned over to Lawrence Township police.
- Police issued several tickets for 48-hour ordinance violations throughout the borough.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about a child who was locked inside a vehicle. Further, police assisted with unlocking the vehicle.
- Police received a report about a disabled vehicle on Moose Street. It was blocking the roadway and preventing a snow plow from passing through. Police contacted the owner to move the vehicle.
- Police received a report about a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Martin Street Extension.
- Police were notified that borough officers had stopped an individual with warrants through the township. Further, police served the warrants and lodged the individual in the CCJ.
- Police received a report about drug activity at the Edgewood Apartments.
- Police were contacted by a Hyde resident about suspicious phone calls. Upon investigation police found the calls had originated from the Ukraine with a 191 area code. Police would like to remind residents not to provide any personal information to unknown individuals over the phone.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of harassment by communications. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
DuBois City
- On Wednesday, police received a report about an alleged incident of disorderly conduct in the 100 block of Highland Street. Police contacted a male regarding a phone call he made to the city building. He told police he was upset about the snow plow trucks pushing snow onto his sidewalk. Police resolved the matter.
- On Wednesday, police received a report about an alleged incident of disorderly conduct at a business on Beaver Drive. Upon arrival the victim told police he was threatened by a known male while at the business. Police made contact with both parties who decided to part ways. The victim didn’t wish to pursue any charges, police said.
- Police were requested to contact a resident regarding a possible phone scam on Wednesday. Further, a male told police he received a phone message from an unknown male who claimed to be from the IRS. The caller wanted a wire transfer for $3,000 for back taxes. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police were requested to contact a resident regarding a possible phone scam on Wednesday. Further, a male told police he received a call from a male who claimed to be with the federal government. He was advised of his selection for a $9,200 grant, but he would have to pay a $200 processing fee. The man wanted to make police aware of the scam.
- Police received a barking dog complaint Wednesday that occurred in the 300 block of Hubert Street. Further, police were advised the dog had been barking for more than two hours. Upon arrival police checked the area but didn’t locate any barking dogs.
- Police received a reckless driving complaint on Wednesday. The motorist was reportedly traveling south into DuBois City on Route 219. Police stopped the vehicle on South Main Street and the motorist advised his vehicle slid a couple of times due to weather conditions.
