New Oxford — After a late-night finish to the first day of wrestling at the 30-team New Oxford Wrestling Tournament, the Clearfield Bison have five wrestlers remaining in the hunt for a medal.
Advancing to the semifinals were senior Noah Cline at 132, and juniors Logan Gilbert at 126 and Travis Ogden at 195.
Odgen, the number three seed, picked up two first period falls. Gilbert had a fall and a 6-5 decision and Cline won 4-0 and 1-0.
Still alive in the consolation bracket are junior Josiah McClarren at 120, and freshman Luke McGonigal at 145.
