Fire Destroys Fairman’s Garage in Sandy Twp.

SANDY TOWNSHIP – A fire destroyed Fairman’s Garage, an auto repair shop, Thursday at 359 Sher De Lin Rd. in Sandy Township, according to Fire Chief John Hallowell.

State police at DuBois said the owner, William H. Fairman, 55, of DuBois sustained burn injuries in the fire and was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois. From there he was flown to West Penn Burn Center in Pittsburgh.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined at this time. A Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal has been called in to investigate the origin and cause of the fire, said Hallowell.

The fire caused approximately $250,000 worth of damage. There aren’t any suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire, according to state police.
