Penn State Altoona to Host Mini-THON

ALTOONA – Penn State Altoona will host a Mini-THON on Feb. 7 in the Adler Athletic Complex.

From 10 a.m. – 10 p.m., the community is invited to stop by for carnival games, contests, food and fun. General admission is free, although some activities will require purchased tickets.

There will be a bouncy house, photo booth, joust, music, basket raffles, merchandise sales, Minute-To-Win-It Games, card making and a luminary/lantern release ceremony.

Penn State Altoona’s THON family will be in attendance for part of the day.

All of the money made or collected at Penn State Altoona’s Mini-THON event will be donated to the Four Diamonds Fund.

THON is a year-round fundraising event benefiting The Four Diamonds Fund, Conquering Childhood Cancer, at the Penn State Children’s Hospital in Hershey.

The year culminates in a no-sitting, no-sleeping, 48-hour dance marathon held every February at the University Park campus, with similar fundraising events held at many other Penn State campuses.

Since 1977, the students of THON have raised more than $114 million and have helped thousands of children and families fight pediatric cancer.

THON 2015 will take place Feb. 20-22 at the Bryce Jordan Center.
