CALIFORNIA, Pa. — Junior running back Beau Swales (Clearfield) scored his fourth touchdown of the season on a 14-yard pass play at the end of the first quarter, but Lock Haven couldn’t match the California offense’s production and suffered a 45-31 defeat in front of 703 fans at Adamson Stadium Saturday.
Swales reached the century mark in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference clash with 17 carries for 47 yards and four receptions for 53 yards, including a 17-yarder that matched his season’s best.
The 6-0, 205-pounder led the Bald Eagles (2-9, 2-7 PSAC-East Division) in rushing with 593 yards on 190 carries and was fourth in receiving yards with 253 for 32 catches.
He added 209 yards on 10 kickoff returns early in the season to rack up 1,055 all-purpose yards.
PSAC statistics show him 14th in rushing and all-purpose yards.
In his three-year career with 11 starts in 33 games, Swales has rushed 268 times for 778 yards and four TDs, hauled in 44 passes for 366 yards and three TDs and returned 37 kickoffs for 837 yards for a total of 1,991 all-purpose yards.

CLARION — Junior longsnapper Eric White (Clearfield) had a busy afternoon as Clarion had to punt eight times but also scored five touchdowns in a heart-breaking 41-35 overtime loss to Kutztown at Memorial Field Saturday.
The Golden Eagles had a season-ending win in their grasp, scoring with 24 seconds remaining, but the visitors tied up the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference cross-over game with a TD as time expired before sending the 400 fans home disappointed.
Clarion finished 2-9, including a 2-7 record in the PSAC West Division.
White had one solo tackle and two assists to boost his 33-game career total to 12 tackles, including two solo stops.

INDIANA — Wide receiver Trey Campman (Clearfield) was one of 14 seniors and graduate students honored before Indiana University of Pennsylvania was handed a 28-17 setback by once-beaten and No. 17-ranked West Chester in their season finale at Miller Stadium Saturday.
The Crimson Hawks were 6-5 with a 5-4 record in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference West Division.
Campman, who had a 25-yard reception at Gannon the previous week, played in 14 games the last two years with two catches for 39 yards and one solo tackle.

HUNTINGDON — Freshman offensive lineman Jon Janocko (Clearfield) made three appearances for Juniata, which closed the campaign with a 44-35 win over Susquehanna at Selinsgrove Saturday to finish 4-5 in the Centennial Conference and 5-5 overall.

BEAVER FALLS — Freshman defensive back Austin Jacobson (Curwensville) played in one game for Geneva, which was defeated 38-3 by visiting Westminster Saturday to finish 3-7 with a 2-6 Presidents’ Athletic Conference record.

LEXINGTON, Va. — Sophomore 165-pounder Nolan Barger (Clearfield) was one of six Lycoming matmen to register three wins as the Warriors opened their dual meet card with a sweep in the Washington & Lee Duals Sunday.
Barger (6-1) received a forfeit in a 40-3 victory over Johns Hopkins (Md.), pinned Josh Gillespie at 3:47 in a 53-0 shutout against Huntingdon (Ala.) and rolled up a 17-1 technical fall in a 45-3 rout of Washington & Lee.

WOMEN’S SWIMMING
MEADVILLE — Freshman Kara Thorp (Clearfield) earned points in three events for Edinboro (2-2) in a 115-114 loss to Allegheny College Friday evening.
She turned in a 26.40-second anchor leg for the Fighting Scots’ ‘B’ 200-medley relay quartet that finished second in 200.63 and then placed fifth in the 200 freestyle in 2:06.74 and fifth in her first 500 free race in 5:42.68.

WOMEN’S SOCCER
DALLAS, Pa. — Freshmen McKenna Aleksivich (Clearfield) and Katie Powers (Clearfield) saw their rookie season for Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference champion Penn State Behrend end in the NCAA Division III Tournament with a 2-0 first-round loss to Brandeis (Mass.) at Misericordia University’s Mangelsdorf Field Friday night.
The Lions tied the program record for wins with a 16-6-1 record.
Aleksivich, a midfielder, appeared in 18 games, including two starts, with one shot on goal while Powers, a defender, played in 10 games.
