CLEARFIELD – Staff members at Visit Clearfield County (VCC) have announced the weekly events for Nov. 14-20.

Ritz Theater, downtown Clearfield

The theater’s lobby opens at 6:30 p.m. You can grab some popcorn, even if you cannot attend the movie showings. For movies and show times, please call 814-765-5835.  Prices are $6 for adults and $4 for children (12 years and under) and senior citizens (60 years and older).

Nunsense 2 – The Second Coming

At 7 p.m. Nov. 13-15 and Nov. 20-22, Nunsense 2 will take the nuns on another hilarious journey, as they decide to continue their fundraising efforts via a “thank you program” for their supporters.  The show is full of musical numbers.

Audiences loved the original Nunsense in 2012 and asked for more of the same. The CAST will present the sequel in November. The CAST is located at 112 E. Locust St., Clearfield. Call 814-765-4474 for ticket information.

All You Can Eat: Pancake & Sausage Breakfast

Clearfield County Fairgrounds

Saturday, Nov. 15

The 2014 Clearfield County Fair Queen Court, along with the Clearfield County Fair Queen Committee, will host an “all-you-can-eat” pancake and sausage breakfast on Nov. 15.

The breakfast will be held at the Expo 1 Building of the Clearfield County Fairgrounds.  It will run from 6 a.m. – 11 a.m. Tickets will be sold at the door and the cost is $6 for adults and $4 for children who are 10 years and under.

Pancakes and sausage will be made by Joe Wriglesworth.  Tickets for a Ladies Vera Bradley Raffle will also be available with the winner drawn at the conclusion of the breakfast.  All proceeds from the breakfast and the raffle will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network and other local charities.

All About Elk

Elk Country Visitor Center

Saturday, Nov. 15

Now that the hard rut has run its course, the staff welcomes you to an interactive and informative presentation to learn about many other fascinating aspects of elk, in addition to their breeding habits and giant antlers. We will discuss the history of elk, the calves, diet, telemetry tracking basic and the successful physiological adaptations of elk to their habitat.

The program will begin at 1 p.m.  in the Discovery Room. The Elk Country Visitor Center is operated by the Keystone Elk Country Alliance, a non-profit 501c(3). On Tuesdays at 10 a.m., “Babies & Books” will be held with Miss Becky. Babies who are up to 2 years old and their parent/caregiver can participate in this interactive story time full of finger-plays, songs, stories and bonding time.

On Tuesdays at 11 a.m., “Thrilling Threes” will be held with Miss Chris and Miss Jayme. Children will enjoy stories, songs, finger-plays and fun. Children will work on their independence, while their parents can enjoy the library.

On Thursdays at 10 a.m., “Terrific Twos” will be held with Miss Becky. During this program, 2-year-olds and their parent/caregiver will enjoy this fun-filled story time that will be packed with books, songs and finger-plays.

On Thursdays at 11 a.m., “Fantastic Fours & Fives” will be held with Miss Chris and Miss Sandy. During this program, children will get ready for school with stories, songs and games galore.  Children will work on their independence, while their parents can enjoy the library.

Pastel Class with Sherry Appleton

The Liddle Gallery

Individuals are invited to the Liddle Gallery for a pastel class with Sherry Appleton on Nov. 18. The class will run from 9:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. Participants should bring a lunch and coffee and beverages will be supplied.

From 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, join the DuBois Diner and Winery at Wilcox for a holiday wine pairing. The DuBois Diner will be serving homemade holiday foods paired with the Winery at Wilcox’s wines.

Spaghetti Dinner

A spaghetti dinner will be served from 4 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. every Thursday, except for holidays, at the Curwensville Community Center. The Italian dinner will include spaghetti, meatballs, salad and Italian bread.  Admission is $6 per adult and $2 per child; both dine-in and take-out will be available.
