Clearfield Mayor Declares Nov. 29 as Small Business Saturday

CLEARFIELD – Joining the U.S. Small Business Administration campaign, Mayor James Schell has issued a proclamation to declare Nov.  29 as “Small Business Saturday” in Clearfield.

“Supporting small, local businesses is our top priority, so Clearfield is pleased to join with states across the nation to mark this day, as one to remind consumers to support local businesses to create jobs, boost our local economy and to preserve our neighborhoods,” said Schell.

According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, there are currently 28 million small businesses in the United States. They represent more than 99 percent of American companies, create two-thirds of the net new jobs, generate half of the private gross domestic products and employ one-half of the employees in the private sector in the United States.

The Clearfield Revitalization Corp. (CRC) encourages residents to support local businesses on Nov. 29 in honor of Small Business Saturday. The CRC will offer free gift wrapping and refreshments from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The Clearfield Area Junior-Senior High School Choir and the Community Choir will kick off the event at 10 a.m. at the Courthouse.
