CLEARFIELD – District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. today announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of Oct. 20.

The fugitive was identified as Dennis James Zeigler II, 26, of White Deer Run Road, Allenwood. Zeigler is wanted for failure to appear at a preliminary hearing on Sept. 17.

On Aug. 29, Patrolman Daniel Podliski of the Clearfield Borough police filed a criminal complaint against Zeigler. He charged him with burglary; criminal trespass; theft from a motor vehicle; institutional vandalism; criminal mischief; disorderly conduct; scattering rubbish; and public drunkenness.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Aug. 23, police were dispatched to the area of 216 E. Pine St. for a male who was allegedly getting into vehicles with municipal license plates on them. Upon investigation it was found that Zeigler had broken into a storage garage located at the intersection of Ruch Street and Healey Avenue.

It was found that Zeigler had caused approximately $1,804 worth of damage to the storage garage. It was also found that Zeigler unlawfully entered two vehicles owned by Clearfield County Government and removed items valued at approximately $218.75.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Sept. 17, at which time Zeigler failed to appear and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Zeigler is described as a Caucasian male who stands 5 feet, 6 inches tall. He has blue eyes and brown hair.
