BELLEFONTE – Today, U.S. Rep. Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson (PA-5) announced the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded a grant in the amount of $85,000 to Penn Highlands Healthcare (PHH) in DuBois.
The grant, which was issued by HHS’s Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), will support PHH’s Children’s Healthcare Integration Network (CHIN) planning project.
“I am pleased to announce that Penn Highlands Healthcare in DuBois will be the recipient of this funding,” stated Thompson.
“This initiative will support Penn Highland’s efforts to foster greater collaboration among area care providers and improve care integration for our community’s youth population and their families.”
The CHIN planning project, which includes PHH, Dickinson Center Inc., in Ridgway, and the Clearfield and Elk County offices of the Pennsylvania Department of Health, will focus on collaborative strategies to improve care services with a focus on youth with chronic and behavioral health conditions.
“The mission of our organization is to provide improved access to primary care and specialty care throughout our system,” said Ray Graeca, chief executive officer of Penn Highlands Healthcare.
“This grant helps Penn Highlands Healthcare and the Dickinson Center meet these goals for an age group that often falls through the cracks in a rural setting.
