Clearfield Bison JV Football Team Picks Up Two Wins in One Night!

Lock Haven — The Clearfield Bison junior varsity football team traveled to Lock Haven Monday night expecting to play Central Mountain, only to find Lewisburg there expecting the same thing. After some discussion, it was decided that the three teams would play a half against each other – a football first!

Clearfield managed to beat both teams to raise its record to 5-0, and then 6-0 on the season!

Playing host Central Mountain first, the Bison won 22-6, giving up only their third touchdown of the season.

Tallin Norris got the Bison on the board first with a 1-yard TD run, then also added the 2-point conversion as well. Matt Collins caught the only completed Bison pass of the game and turned it in to a 24-yard touchdown reception from QB Corey Shimmel. Shimmel then added a 7-yard run for a score and Norris tacked on his second 2-point conversion of the game. Central Mountain scored on a 5-yard run to set the final.

In the second “game”, the Bison picked up their third shut out of the year in besting Lewisburg 6-0. The only score was an 11-yard run by Corey Shimmel. Ryan Spencer and Travis Ogden recovered Lewisburg fumbles for the Bison “D”.
