DuBois City
- On Thursday, police received a report about a door to a storage room being broken into at the Laundromat on West Long Avenue. Nothing appeared to be stolen, police said, noting there was damage to the door.
- Police received a report about a domestic dispute Thursday in the 500 block of Sunflower Drive. Further, a man and woman left in vehicles before police arrival to the scene. However, witnesses told police it appeared the couple had been engaged in an argument.
- On Thursday, police received a report that someone damaged the restrooms near the amphitheater. Further, police said someone set a garbage can on fire and damaged plumbing. The incident, police said, remains under investigation at this time.
Sandy Township
- On Wednesday, a 22-year-old Illinois man reported that while at the Clarion Hotel, a 25-year-old Ohio woman slapped him in the face and then left the scene. Police located the woman who reported she had met the man at a bar and when they went to the Clarion Hotel, he was making unwanted advances and she became upset and left. Police handled the situation without incident.
- On Wednesday, retail theft charges were filed against a 31-year-old DuBois man after he allegedly attempted to take $81.27 worth of merchandise from Wal-Mart without paying for it.
- On Thursday, police received a report about a van parked in front of Wal-Mart and its occupants were asking for money. Police handled the situation without incident.
- On Thursday, a Mountain Run Road resident reported there was a man parked in a vehicle behind the church and he was slumped over the wheel. Upon arrival police located the 59-year-old New York man who reported he had arrived to see his mother late at night and did not want to wake her, so he slept in his vehicle. Police confirmed these details and handled the situation without incident.
- A 32-year-old DuBois man was allegedly seen by Wal-Mart employees taking a socket set without paying for it. The man then fled the store but was caught by police walking on Route 255. He eventually admitted that he took the merchandise. Charges for retail theft were filed as a result, police said.
